How white labelling actually works

You have the audience. We have the factory. This is everything in between, written without the sales fog.

The short version

  1. You pick a product from the range.
  2. We send you a quote and a mockup with your logo on it.
  3. You approve the proof and pay a deposit.
  4. We make it, pack it and ship it to you or your fulfilment partner.
  5. You sell it to your audience.

That is the whole thing. The rest of this page is the detail.

What white label means

A white label product is a finished product that a manufacturer already makes, sold to you without a brand on it so you can put yours on. The formula is done, the packaging is done, the testing is done. What changes is the label, the colours and the box.

That is why it is fast and why it is cheap compared with developing your own product. Developing a skincare formula from scratch takes a year and a lot of money. Putting your name on one that already exists takes weeks.

It is also how a surprising amount of the beauty aisle works. Many of the brands you already buy are made by a handful of factories and labelled differently.

What we make

Two kinds of thing.

Skincare and body care, made in Denmark. Face creams, an eye cream, hand and foot creams, body lotion, oils and a lip balm. Our chemist formulated them and they have been sold in Denmark under our own brand. See the white label skincare page.

Cooling products. The Smart Cooling Towel, a cooling gel and an after sun gel. See the white label cooling products page.

We deliberately keep the range small so every product is one we actually stand behind.

What it costs

The minimum is 1,000 units per product. Unit price depends on the product, the quantity and the packaging. We do not publish a price list because a number without context is misleading, but we will give you a firm quote within two business days of you filling in the quote form.

What you should budget for:

  • The units. A thousand per product to start. Price per unit drops at every quantity break above that.
  • Branding setup. A one-off cost for print plates or label setup. Small.
  • Shipping. From Denmark, by road within Europe or air beyond. We quote it.
  • Import duties. Depend on your country. We tell you what to expect before you commit.

We ask for a deposit at proof approval and the balance before shipping.

How long it takes

So a realistic first launch is two to three months from the day you decide.

What you need before you start

Not much.

  • A logo, ideally as a vector file. A PNG will do to get started.
  • A rough idea of how many products you want to start with. The minimum is 1,000 units per product.
  • A country to ship to.

You do not need a finished brand, a website or a company to get a quote. You will need the company and the website before you can sell, and there is time to sort them while production runs.

Selling it

This is your side, but here is what we have seen work.

Pre-sell. Show the mockup to your audience before you order and take pre-orders or a waitlist. It tells you the right quantity and it funds the deposit.

One product first. A single product with a clear reason is easier to launch than a range. Add the second one when the first is selling.

Bundle. Two products with the same label design in a box sells better than either alone. Day and night cream. Towel and cooling gel. Hand cream and lip balm.

We wrote more on this in the journal, starting with how to price a white label product.

Where the products come from

We are a Danish manufacturer. Our skincare and body care is formulated and made in Denmark, and we also make the towel sold on smarttowel.shop. One World Influencers is the white label arm of One World Organics Limited. More on the about page.

Questions

Asked a lot.

What is the difference between white label and private label?

White label is an existing product that gets your branding on it. Private label is when the formula or product itself is changed for you. Everything on this site starts as white label. If you want a tweak to a formula, scent or colour, ask and we will tell you what it costs and how long it adds.

How many units do I have to order?

One thousand units per product. That is the run length that makes a proper branded product worth setting up, and it is the number our pricing is built around.

How long does it take?

Usually six to eight weeks from proof approval. Shipping is on top and depends on where you are.

Do I need a company?

Not to get a quote. To place an order you will need somewhere for us to invoice and somewhere to ship. Most creators set up a simple company or sole trader registration in their own country before the first order arrives.

Can I sell it on my own website?

Yes. That is the whole point. You sell it wherever you like, at whatever price you like. We make it and ship it to you or to your fulfilment partner.

Do you do the design?

We will put your logo on our label templates and send you a mockup for free with your quote. If you want a fully custom label design, we can do that too, or you can send us print-ready artwork from your own designer.
